Migiri governor Okoth Obado was treated at Kenyatta National Hospital private wing after complaining of stomachache, it has now emerged.
Earlier, his PA Michael Oyamo, who is the prime suspect in Sharon Otieno's murder, was treated and discharged from the facility after complaining of a similar problem.
Sources claim that Obado was brought to the facility at around 10:30am on Wednesday and was admitted at the private wing.
“His private doctor and a prison doctor had seen him and recommended further checks at KNH,” said a source who asked not to be named.
The county boss had spent 10 days at Industrial Area prison awaiting his bail application fate due on October 8th.
A week ago, a section of social media users had claimed that the governor, who is also accused of financing his girlfriend Sharon Otieno's death, collapsed and was treated at Nairobi Hospital, a claim his lawyer Cliff Ombeta denied.
"He is in good health. Ignore the social media rumours. I can assure you he is well at Gigiri police station," he said.
Prison boss Isaiah Osugo had also denied claims that Mr. Obado is being accorded preferential treatment at Industrial Area prison.
Besides Oyamo, his other aide Caspal Obiero, driver Jackson Gombe and bodyguard Elvis Omondi are facing murder charges.
