Postmortem on the body of former Kilifi Deputy Governor Kennedy Kamto was carried out on Thursday 13, at the Coast Provincial General Hospital mortuary.
Chief government pathologist Johansen Odour led the operation. The results revealed that the former DG was killed by three bullets.
Two bullets were lodged into his body and were removed during the postmortem.
According to Oduor, one bullet ruptured his chest and went through his heart. This is believed to be the killer bullet.
The other two bullets hit his leg and head. His body has been transferred to Aga Khan Hospital mortuary awaiting burial.
Kamto’s wife was summoned to record a statement at Nyali Police Station alongside the house help. She stated that the three masked killers shot her husband in front of her.
Coast Regional Coordinator Bernard Lemparamai said the motive behind the murder is still unclear but maintained that they are still pursuing the killers.
Meanwhile, several leaders and locals have come out asking security officials to fight the increasing crime at the coast.
