Kibera MP Ken Okoth has hit out at Kericho senator Aaron Cheruyiot for sponsoring a Bill to have Nairobi county government dissolved.
Okoth says that the Bill is malicious and means to cause a disadvantage to Nairobi residents.
The ODM MP states that the Bill is ill-timed and should be rejected at all costs.
The legislator said devolution was not meant to be discriminative, adding that the senator should find meaningful Bills to draft.
“It is unfortunate that some politicians and leaders are keen on causing antagonism among Kenyans through malicious Bills and proposals,” he said in Highrise, Kibera on Friday.
The MP asked the Senate Legal and Justice Affair’s committee to reject the Bill.
“The Bill should not even be admitted and the Kericho senator should be forced to apologise for trying to create divisions in the country,” he said.
