At Entebbe International Airport, Museveni was pictured with a female bodyguard, almost a year after his Kenyan counterpart Uhuru was seen with one.

The Ugandan President who has been in power since 1986 was heading to China for African-China trade summit. The female bodyguard was in official attire.

"I have left for a four day' working visit to China. I will attend the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo and also hold a bilateral meeting with Chinese President, Xi Jinping in Beijing," he tweeted.

Unlike Uhuru, Museveni served in the army before taking over and usually wears military attires whenever attending functions.

Last year, the Kenyan President was pictured with a female aide-de-camp, Lieutenant Colonel Rachel Nduta. She comes from the Kenya Air Force. She is a principal assistant to Lt Col Timothy Stelu, the official aide-de-camp.

Uhuru also promoted Fatuma Ahmed to Major General rank, becoming the first woman to hold the rank in Kenyan history last year.

“It is my pride and joy today to launch the first Kenyan woman as a major-general in the republic. I am counting on you to be a role model to the women in this republic and to prove to them that there is no limits for the Kenyan women,” Mr Kenyatta told Maj-Gen Ahmed as quoted by Daily Nation.
