Kisii County Governor James Ongwae has dismissed claims that he has favoured his relatives, friends and close allies for top county jobs.
Ongwae speaking when he was accompanied by his Deputy Joash Maangi to witness the signing of performance contract at the 3rd level of government between Chief Officers and Directors said he has not employed his relatives as claimed by some political rivals.
"I have no powers to employ my relatives. Anyone with evidence that I have employed my friends and family members should sue me in court. I am a clean person who respects the law," he said.
The ODM governor insisted that he won't engage in divisive politics with his rivals who are lazy and idle.
"I made promises to Kisii residents during the last year's polls which I should fulfil before I leave office in 2022. My political opponents should give me humble time to deliver and not tarnishing my name giving me unnecessary pressure," he added.
Ongwae confirmed that he is ready for constructive criticism but, not a criticism of lies and propaganda.
He added that his government is committed to boosting service delivery to the people of Kisii.
