Nyamira Senator Okong'o Omogeni has warned politicians against concentrating so much on opposition leader Raila Odinga ahead of the 2022 polls.
Speaking on Monday, the lawmaker said that the elections will not be won on grounds of who attacks Raila the most, but who has what it takes to better the lives of Kenyans.
He advised that aspirants should leave Raila out of their early campaigns and concentrate on how they will convince Kenyans by promising to address their issues.
Omogeni argued that the polls will be about who will give the best proposal on how the nation can overcome among others, unemployment, poor healthcare and corruption.
"The next election will not be based on how much you insult Raila, the next election shall be issues based: issues of unemployment, stadiums, hospitals and the promises to end corruption," he said on Tuesday at NTV's AMLive show.
This comes amid soaring political temperatures three years to the much-anticipated race, where Raila is, however, yet to declare interest in any elective seat.
Raila has, nonetheless, been having problems with forces allied to Deputy President William Ruto who he is likely to face off within the event he decided to vie for the presidency in 2022.
