For close to a month now, Mr. Obado, a second term governor, has been a guest of state over the murder of his girlfriend Sharon Otieno.

Even before Sharon is laid to rest on October 18th, Mr. Obado, who admitted to have impregnated her, will be fighting for freedom albeit even for few days.

Among the issues to be determined on Friday by Lady Justice Jessie Lessit, include an application by FIDA to be enjoined in the murder case.

Further, the judge will also look at an application by Sharon Otieno's mother, Melida Auma, who wants the governor to be condemned to prison for fear that he might tamper with investigations due to his position.

The judge would also study application for bail by the defense led by Nicholas Ombija, which wants the governor released unconditionally after taking plea.

Early this week, the prosecution amended Obado's murder charges by including the second charge of 'murdering Sharon's unborn baby'.

Ms. Otieno was abducted early in September and her mutilated body was retrieved from Kodera forest few hours later.

Prosecution has linked Obado directly with the murder, becoming the first sitting governor to be charged as such.

Assuming that he's released on bail, the ODM county boss will find a new Senator back at home following Monday's by-election that saw Ochillo Ayacko, his political nemesis, elected by Majority.

His aides Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero will also know their fate since the two cases were consolidated by the prosecution team.
