Garissa Governor Ali Korane could find himself in trouble following reports that detectives plan to arrest more suspects allegedly linked to the attempted murder of former Garissa Finance Executive Idriss Mukhtar.
Korane is among people who have been interrogated in connection to the attempted murder.
The Jubilee governor was arrested and interrogated at Parklands police station on August 28 before being released.
The governor denied any role in Mukhtar’s attempted murder.
Korane has since accused his political enemies of using the former CEC attempted murder to mudslide him.
According to detectives, more suspects allegedly linked to the CEC attempted murder could be arrested this week.
Those familiar with the investigation, the plot to kill Mukhtar was hatched five months earlier.
Already two suspects, Hussein Aden and Juliet Njoki have been charged with attempted murder of Mukhtar.
The two suspects are out on bond as Mukhtar battles for his life in Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
