The team consisting of Msambweni lawmaker Suleiman Dori and his Malindi counterpart Aisha Jumwa have been frequenting Ruto’s events, amid condemnations from the ODM side.

Speaking on Radio Citizen on Monday Morning, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna noted that the party is instead against the duo’s endorsement of Ruto’s 2022 candidature.

‘’Sisi hatuna shida na wao kuhudhuria hafla za Ruto. Shida yetu ni wao kumpigia debe (what concerns us is their move to endorse his presidential bid),’’ said the former Nairobi Senatorial hopeful.

The party through its National Chairman and Suba parliamentarian John Mbadi on Tuesday kicked off plans to subject the two to punishment for violating the party regulations.

But Jumwa has since defended herself, basing her closeness to Ruto on the March 9 reconciliation between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM party chief Raila Odinga, where the two agreed to shelve their political rivalry and unite the republic.

According to Sifuna, however, the truce never touched on the 2022 race, still leaving the two on the wrong.

‘’Mkataba wa Raila na Uhuru haukugusia mambo ya siasa za 2022 mahali popote (their agreement never covered issues to do with the 2022 politics),’’ he added.
