Political analyst Gerald Bitok has called upon the government to be cautious while dealing with China, warning that the Asian country is most likely insincere in its issuance of loans.
Speaking on Wednesday, he called for alertness with regards to the credit, claiming that it could be a trap and part of their plan to take advantage of Kenya and African counties in the future.
He argued that thanks to its big population, it's very likely that China is attempting to make it hard for Kenya to repay the debt, and end up disposing its excess population in Kenya in the future.
"The Chinese want to control Kenya as they have a lot of people. China inaendeshwa na watu wako na akili, lazima kuna kitu wanataka (China is led by intelligent people, they are obviously eyeing something)," he said.
The commentator was speaking on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show on Wednesday night.
He claimed that the plot could be the reason behind the secrecy behind the loans and their repayment terms.
"Hii mambo ya loan, mbona the government never discloses what it has placed as security? Hata benki ukiomba mkopo lazima uwekelee kitu (About this loan, how come the government never discloses what has been placed as security? You have to place something even when securing a loan from a bank)," he said.
The loan is said to be standing at about Sh6 trillion, according to Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi.
