Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has said that it is shocked by CAF Appeal Board decision to reinstate Equatorial Guinea Women football team to the 2018 AWCON.

FKF noted that CAF decision was wrong, ill-timed, retrogressive and against the spirit of fairness.

"The decision by CAF Appeal Board is a great injustice to Harambee Starlets, Kenya fans, government and the federation; having dedicated large resources to prepare the team for the 2018 AWCON," read the statement

In addition, FKF has retaliated that its protest against ineligible fielding of Annette Jacky Messomo is firm and that the player is not a genuine citizen of Equatorial Guinea; for she has lived and played for Cameroon and Europe.

As a result, the federation has expressed displeasure with CAF following the 7th, Wednesday astonishing rule and that it will appeal the decision at the court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS), in a concerted effort to Kenya is included in the AWCON tournament or stopping its kick off until the case is heard or resolved.
