Speaking on Radio Maisha' Bunge La Maisha Tuesday morning, the parliamentarian bashed the courts for committing themselves to less important issues instead.

He gave the instance where the courts have given 15 rulings on opposition activist Miguna Miguna's deportation last year but are yet to make any major ruling on graft suspects.

Sankok found it funny that the courts want Miguna who is currently in Canada presented in court and using the remaining time to uphold or nullify elections.

"The court is busy ruling about Miguna and gubernatorial petitions but is paying less attention to graft cases. This way we will never eradicate graft," he said.

He said that the court should drop the narrative that it has not been furnished with enough evidence by the prosecution side to convict graft suspects.

The lawmaker added that the court is also a part of the evidence gathering team and must do that by ordering for bank statements of the named persons.

"The court cannot claim that it doesn't have evidence yet its unwilling to order to be provided with bank statements of the suspects. Instead, they are busy with petitions," he added.

There has been an ongoing blame game between the Judiciary and the Directorates of Criminal Investigation and Public Prosecution on who is to blame for the slow progress.
