Residents of Chepilat shopping center are yet to come into terms after a man abandoned his wife and four children for his cousin.
According to witnesses, Edward Ogwora, a matatu driver has been living with his cousin, Margaret Bwari, for over 1 month at a rental house at Chepilat after abandoning his wife, Stella and his kids.
“Ogwora is not even ashamed after abandoning his wife for cousin. We want elders and the local authorities to act to ensure the man is responsible for his family,” said Catherine Nyaboke.
Area assistant chief, Duncan Maeba confirmed the incident and said he has summoned the man to appear before his office over 5 times but in vain.
“I have summoned the man over 5 times to talk about the matter but, he has never appeared. I have instructed Nyumba Kumi official to lay a trap on him and arrest him to surrender him to my office,” he said.
Maeba warned locals against engaging in illicit sex with relatives saying a calamity will fall on them.
He said he will engage elders by ensuring they attend public barazas to sensitize young people on the dangers of relatives’ marriages.
