Joho said everyone has got the potential to achieve in life regardless of how you performed in your education and that you only need to realise your strengths and major in them.

"If I gave them a minute of my time, today I would be somewhere else," said Joho while referring to those who doubted his capabilities in political ambitions.

While addressing the audience at the Global women Conference in Mombasa on Sunday, Governor Joho said getting a poor grade in one's secondary school education should not be seen as a failure in life, but instead the society should see what the person has done, or is doing thereafter.

The governor who could only manage to score a D- in his O-level education which many people considered a fail, ended up as one of the richest businessmen and influential politicians in Kenya.

"You judge someone by historical struggles without taking into considerations that each one of us may have some kind of potential in them and they only need to find it and bring it out. I was a D minus material but I hold two degrees and the first Governor of Mombasa and watch the space, I know it is possible," said Joho.

Joho's revelation is sparking mixed reactions from Kenyans with most of them lauding his efforts.
