A viral video which circulated on social media with students from Ambira High School insulting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has brought about mixed reactions among Kisii leaders.
Victor Swanya, a Nyamira County based politician urged Matiang'i to go slow for the sake of living long.
"Matiang'i should stop the unnecessary harassment of people in the country. It is now an indication that even children are not happy with his style of work in this country," said Swanya.
He said the pressure Matiang'i has been putting on learners could be the reason the students decided to insult him. Steve Arika, a Jubilee politician said Matiang'i should be respected.
"It is shameful and sad for students to call Matiang'i names which will make them face the law. Teachers and parents should work closely to ensure the moral of the children is uphold," said Arika.
Mr. Arika asked Matiang'i to ensure the students who insulted him are sent to jail to serve as an example to other students.
Rachael Otundo protested Matiang'i move to rush in deploying DCI detectives to nab the students saying in leadership insults are common.
