Kenya Revenue Authority custom officials on Sunday nabbed two kilograms of bhang at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, allegedly being smuggled out to London.
The product which was being disguised as herbal soap was detected by sniffer dogs, and is thought to have originated from Nakuru County, which has become notorious for narcotics lately.
The police have since launched investigations to unveil if the new tact has been in use for a long time or is the latest mode of smuggling being used to smuggle narcotics out of the county, according to the Standard.
The product was discovered in twenty 100 grammes boxes, marking the second such smuggling attempt in two weeks, with the police yet to make any arrests in line with the same.
This comes barely two weeks after police intercepted a confinement of bhang in Nakuru while reportedly being transported to the neighbouring Ethiopia.
The product was being transported aboard a fuel tanker, with the police now suspecting that the job is the doing of a group of drug dealers exporting the product to other countries.
They law enforcers also suspect that the mules are working on orders of bigger faceless individuals.
They have since launched investigations to unravel the destination of the monies accrued from the trade, in a bid to unravel the identity of the cartels.
