Ndeti noted that many Kenyans languish in abject poverty since they are not ready to take up on jobs that offer low pay.

She encouraged youths across the nation to wake up from slumber and make their dreams a reality.

Ndeti said it is not mandatory to work in an office for one to settle his/her own bills.

The vocal politician reminded youths that they can live better lives than those who work in offices if they stand and make themselves count.

“Do you know that masons, plumbers, electricians, dressmakers etc earn more than office goers e.g.. minimum of Sh1,200 per day ×6×4=Sh28,800 per month. "Mtu wa mkono" minimum Sh500×6×4=Sh12,000. Start somewhere with no time, you'll be a boss,” Ndeti wrote on her Twitter account on Sunday.

Over decades, many youths not only in Machakos County but the entire nation have been faulting the government for doing little to get them jobs.

There are millions of unemployed youths across the nation despite having good academic records.

Ndeti challenged Kenyan youths to embrace self-employment to save themselves from abject poverty.
