Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri has lauded the Kalenjin community for remaining calm amid changes within the Jubilee government.
Speaking on Radio Maisha's 'Bunge La Maisha' Tuesday morning, the lawmaker lauded the community for not retaliating to Deputy President William Ruto's ongoing woes.
This comes at a time when the DP, the Rift Valley kingpin, seems to be on the receiving end from President Uhuru Kenyatta who keeps victimizing him.
According to Ngunjiri, any attempt to retaliate or question Uhuru's moves could culminate in an ugly political scuffle that could breach the current political calm in the country.
"I salute the Kalenjin community in Rift Valley for remaining calm despite Ruto's ongoing troubles in Uhuru's government. Its good that they have not retaliated," he said.
"Wakiongea huenda kukawa na shida za kisiasa (speaking out might result to problems). Let them remain silent, God will fight for them," added the lawmaker.
DP Ruto seems to be slowly losing touch with the President only two years to his (Ruto's) presidential bid for the 2022 general elections.
The second in command seems to have been isolated by his boss since the entrance of opposition leader Raila Odinga and has been missing on several presidential functions and replaced with Odinga.
His allies have also raised an alarm over Uhuru's intensifying closeness with the former Premier, while the president has also remained hesitant to confirm his support for Ruto's presidential plans.
Ruto is yet to publicly speak on the same.
