County Secretaries from the counties making up the larger Lake Regional Economic Bloc on Tuesday convened a meeting in Kisumu.

The meeting also attended by County Finance Ministers was set to deliberate on the establishment of guidelines for the formation of regional economic blocks.

In a tweet on the same, the block said that representatives from all the 14 member counties were present for the meeting at the Grand Royal Hotel.

Also present were county attorneys and economic advisors.

Attended by County Secretaries, CEC Finance, County Attorneys and Economic Advisors from the 14member Counties at the Grand Royal in Kisumu," reads the tweet.

The bloc brings together counties surrounding the great Lake Victoria, its members including counties from Nyanza, Western and Rift Valley regions.

They include Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Busia, Kakamega and Siaya.

Others are Bomet, Nyamira, Bungoma, Nandi, Trans Nzoia, Vihiga and Kericho.

The bloc is headed by Kakamega county boss Wycliffe Oparanya in the capacity of the Chair.

The latter was recently elected to head the larger Council of Governors which bring on board all the 47 county bosses in a similar capacity.
