In the bizarre incident that happened in Embu town, Citizen Digital reported, the traffic police officers boarded the PSV vehicle and directed the driver to head to Runyenjes police station. The defiant driver was to record a statement at the station.

In a shocking turn of events, the driver allegedly sped off towards the Kirinyaga forest where he dumped the officers after realizing he was being followed by a police squad.

Confirming the incident, acting Head Enforcement officer in the Embu County Mr Joseph Ndwiga said the traffic officers were manning a Runyenjes road when they spotted a matatu picking and dropping passengers at an in-designated area on the highway.

It is at this point that two officers got hold of the suspect and directed him to drive to the police station before speeding over to the forest. The driver later jumped out of the vehicle and into the forest after realizing he was being trailed by other armed police officers.

The matatu has since been impounded, with police launching a search with bid to bring the rogue driver into book.
