Police in Eldoret have launched investigations into the brutal murder of Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago's elder brother.
According to Nation, the deceased's body was found dumped at a house that is under construction in one of the estates of the town.
Moiben Deputy County Commissioner Lilian Langat confirmed the incident.
“The body was found in an abandoned section of the building and police are carrying out the investigations so that we get to know exactly what happened," said Langat.
The Monday incident was a shock to many residents and county employees as they described the deceased as quiet.
Lang'at said they have started investigations to establish the motive of the murder.
"The body has been collected and taken to the mortuary as investigations continue on the matter," she added.
Efforts to reach Governor Mandago over the issue were futile.
Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker David Kiplagat has called for speedy investigations.
"The security agencies should get to the bottom of this heinous act. How sure are we about the safety of our people?" he said.
