“As such it is impracticable for the accused to effectively discharge the constitutional mandate as the Governor of Migori County,” reads part of the application.

Obado decried strict bail terms levied on him. He was barred from travelling through Homa Bay County since Sharon parents and key witnesses in his murder case live there.

According to his application, Obado stated that alternative route to Nairobi is costly and longer.

“The Trans Mara Road also has very rough terrain, making it extremely uncomfortable and torturous to travel on the road,” says Obado.

More so, he cited that he cannot access all Migori County areas since some of the areas are among those he was restricted to visit.

Obado was released from police custody last year.

He was allowed a 20km radius restriction access from his Migori house.

Obado who was ordered to seek permission before travelling outside the country now wants his passport returned since he is the chairman of the Council of Governor's agriculture team, and at some point, he may be required to attend forums outside the country.

Governor Obado made these two applications when he appeared before Justice Jessie Lesiit today to hear his murder case.
