Ndeti's sentiments on high numbers of such cases come as investigations into Dusit D2 attack continue to gain momentum.

She attributed the increased suicidal cases to frustrations among the vulnerable groups.

Ndeti, who in December 2018, lost the Machakos gubernatorial contest to Alfred Mutua at the Supreme Court said it is unfortunate that some youths are turning to suicide because of the economic hardships that they go through in life.

Some of the youths have even opted to join militia groups after being radicalized.

She urged the government, parents and religious leaders to work together to ensure that youths do not take their own lives in the future. The outspoken politician also reminded youths who are thinking of committing suicide that they have no place in heaven.

She advised them to seek advice whenever they feel life is not faring well on their side.

“Something is not right!! Many young people have been committing suicide. Government, parents, and church need to turn attention to the youth. To the youth, if you kill yourself, you have no room in heaven. Look for someone and talk about your problems. You are our today and future,” Ndeti tweeted on Saturday.Ndeti told the youth not to sit and wait for their parents to provide for them.

She encouraged them to 'start from somewhere' if they want to be achievers in life.
