Peter Puok could not believe it when he was called by Khetias Supermarket's marketing manager on Friday morning to inform him he had won a brand new motorbike.
Puok who lives in Eldoret with his two sisters moved to the town from Kakuma Refugee Camp in December, last year, and frequently shops at Khetias Supermarket.
“I am not so familiar with Eldoret town and only know a few places in town including Khetias supermarket where I do my shopping. I do not have a job and I rely on my elder brother who works in the U.S.A and frequently sends me money for upkeep and rent," said Puok.
Khetias Supermarket Eldoret branch marketing manager John Wukayi revealed that the supermarket rewards two of its best shoppers every three months whereby one gets a new car while the other gets a new motorcycle.
“This has been our first promotion this year and Peter Puok is lucky to win a new TVS star motorbike whose market price is Sh105, 000. Another lucky shopper has also won a car and as a supermarket, we congratulate them and encourage them to continue shopping at Khetias Supermarket because it is a world class supermarket full of quality goods and services," said Wukayi.
Wukayi handed the motorbike to the joyful Puok outside the Khetias supermarket Eldoret branch on Friday morning.
“This is more than a blessing to me because I never imagined I would win a motorbike this easily. I'm going home and will decide what to do with it later. I thank the Khetias Supermarket management for this award and I will continue doing my shopping here. It is actually a nice feeling," said Puok.
The young man shed tears of joy as he rode the motorbike home, with his younger sister at the back seat.
