However, sections of Kenyans feel the #NairobiFightNight held at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) was not fair. They felt Phiri was the winner, at least from what they saw.

Some even asked opposition leader Raila Odinga to withdraw his congratulatory message to Zarika.

“Congratulations @FatumaZarika for beating Catherine Phiri from Zambia to retain the WBC Super Bantamweight World title in an exciting bout at the #NairobiFightNight. You have done Kenya proud. Keep inspiring all our youth as you aspiring sports people with your exploits,” @RailaOdinga tweeted.

When Deputy President William Ruto delivered his congratulations via Twitter, some of his followers jokingly said that only servers can give a clear picture of who won.

“Congratulations to the World Boxing Council (WCB) Super Bantamweight World Champion Fatuma Zarika for flooring challenger Catherine Phiri to retain the title. We savour your exploits following a dogged, tactical and assured display. #NairobiFightNight,”@WilliamsRuto wrote.
