Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has sent a message of condolence to family, friends, and relatives of late President Felix Tshisekedi's adviser in charge of private affairs, Gilbert Mundela.
In his message of condolence, Raila said that he received the news with deep shock and disbelief.
The ODM leader eulogized the late Mundela as an iconic leader who wanted to make the world a better place for everyone.
He also said that the African continent has lost a true son of the soil and asked the family to remain strong during this moment of trial in their lives.
Mundela died after he collapsed at a Nairobi Hotel. He had been rushed to The Nairobi Hospital after he suffered a severe heart attack.
“I’m sending my condolences to Mundela’s family and to the people of DR Congo for the loss of your son, who fought for democracy in Congo almost all his adult life. We are mourning with you,” Raila said as quoted by Nation.
He made the remarks at the Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi where he went to view the body of the deceased
Doctors confirmed that Mundela, 66, died due to cardiac arrest.
