Elders from Keiyo community have endorsed the move by former Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant Zedekiah Bundotich alias Buzeki to ditch Jubilee Party and join Chama Cha Mashinani party.
Led by Keiyo elders chairman Yusuf Keitany, they said they will campaign for him to ensure he clinches the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat come 2022.
"As Keiyo elders, we support the move by Buzeki to join Chama Cha Mashinani party and that we give him our 100 per cent support. Anywhere he goes, we will follow him to accomplish his political dreams," said Keitany.
Buzeki, who has been a strong ally of the Deputy President William Ruto ditched Jubilee Party last month citing myriad frustrations from people surrounding DP Ruto led by Soy MP Caleb Kositany.
He spoke at Kaptagat in Uasin Gishu County on Saturday where the elders declared their full support for Buzeki.
"We have also crowned Buzeki to take over the mantle of leading the community which fell vacant following the demise of the former KANU regime powerful minister Nicholas Biwott who was a Keiyo elder. He will now be our spokesman," added Keitany.
Buzeki applauded their move and promised not to let them down in his bid for Uasin Gishu governorship.
He further lamented about ethnic discrimination being propagated by some leaders and members of parliament in Uasin Gishu County.
