A 59-year-old man from Nyamare village, Mong'oni in Rigoma Division Masaba North, Nyamira County hanged himself after his wife divorced him.
Confirming the incident, Nyankoba location chief Beatrice Mwango said the deceased Edward Mang'aro threatened to take his own life after his wife packed all her belongings and left to unknown place.
"The deceased was abandoned by his wife because he had several women outside the wedlock. He later threatened to take his life if the woman will not return home with their 3 kids," said Mwango.
She said the deceased living true to his threats, he entered his bedroom where he has been sleeping alone for the past one month since his wife left him and hanged himself.
"The body of the deceased was recovered by a neighbor who went to check on him. I was notified about the man's death by assistant chiefs Otuoma Manyura and Erick Marando," she noted.
Ms Mwango said she alerted Keroka police officers who arrived at the scene and found the body hanging from the roof of the house.
"His body was moved to Gucha hospital morgue in Keroka," she added.
She appealed to men to stop committing suicide when their wives abandons them.
