Residents of Mobet village were left in shock after a mother-in-law was busted in bed with her daughter's husband on Saturday morning.
The two were caught half-naked in the woman's bedroom. The middle-aged mother-in-law identified as Risper Cherutit is a widow.
"This is a taboo in our family and community. You have placed a curse on yourself. How could you even think of doing such evil to your daughter? You are a devil," the woman's brother who was part of the small crowd that had gathered at the homestead shouted to her.
The daughter had apparently gone for work early in the morning and left her husband having tea at her mother's place as usual. According to the neighbours, the two in-laws were suspiciously close but the daughter was never concerned.
"We always knew something was not right between the two. They were always close whenever the husband visited the lady. Some people tried to warn her but she took it for granted," a neighbour said.
The daughter was torn down in tears when she was informed of the development. She hurriedly packed her things and left. The relatives around tried to stop her to no success.
"There is no need to go, this will always be your home. We know that your mother has done a terrible mistake. Please just stay," a man was heard persuading the lady.
The man was forced to walk away in shame as the mother-in-law was showered with insults and curses.
