Two groups have moved to court to sue Margaret Waititu, wife to departed politician and former Vice President George Saitoti, for allegedly blocking a road in Nairobi.

According to Ukweli Usemwe and Uzalendo groups, Margaret Waititu has blocked an access road joining Olenguruone Avenue and Mzima Springs roads using a fence at her land.

The land is located in Lavington, Nairobi County.

The groups have also raised an alarm that the latter is on the verge of grabbing a public land initially belonging to the Kenya Power and Lighting Company Limited (KPLC).

Under a certificate of urgency, the are claiming that the accused has extended the fence of her land and encroached into the other land and is nearing taking it over.

According to court papers, as was seen by the Citizen Digital, the groups and Joseph Gitonga, another complainant, the complainants want the matter given a quick consideration, failure to which the public will lose the land.

"Pending hearing and determination of the case, the petitioners seek orders compelling the respondent to unblock the road," reads that papers, as was seen by the Citizen Digital.

At the time of his death in June 2012 Saitoti, a former, Cabinet Minister, was in charge of Internal Security under former President Mwai Kibaki.

He died in a chopper crash in Kibiku Area in Ngong forest alongside five others, among them his deputy Joshua Orwa Ojode.
