Witnesses said trouble started when Edinah Monyangi accused Josephine Moraa for stealing a crate she was to pack her tomatoes in.

"Monyangi and Moraa are tomato vendors. Their supplier brought tomatoes for them but, Monyangi could not find her crate to pack her tomatoes. She accused Moraa of stealing the crate," said one of the witnesses Stephen Maeba.

Mr. Maeba said Moraa was angered after Monyangi implicated her to be a thief and started the fight.

"It took the intervention of county tax collectors for the two women to stop fighting. Monyang'i's nose was bitten while Moraa was injured on her forehead," said Maeba.

Area administrator Charles Makori said Monyangi was rushed to Nyangoso health centre for treatment.

"Moraa wanted to 'eat' Monyang'i nose but, luckily they were stopped from fighting. Moraa was rushed to a local hospital for her wound to be dressed," he said.

He warned traders against fighting saying peaceful ways should be used to solve issues whenever differences arise.

Makori said Moraa refused to go to hospital saying she sustained a minor injury.
