Tiaty MP Kassait Kamket has said that he will seek to have the constitution changed so that the president can sack his deputy at will.
Speaking in Kandara during a church service on Sunday, the former journalist said that it was a mistake to pass a constitution that gives the Deputy President leeway to defy the president without the risk of being sacked.
"The government is one. The government is the president so don't tell us about the deputy president. The government is Uhuru Kenyatta. The mistake we did with this constitution is that it does not allow the president to sack his deputy but the constitution thing is coming. We will change it so that the president can have the power to sack his deputy, " the Tiaty MP said.
Kamket hit out at leaders chest-thumping about the 2022 elections, saying that they have "an inverted sense of self-importance".
His statement was an indirect attack on DP William Ruto.
Kamket, elected on a KANU ticket is part of the so-called Kieleweke team that has been moving around the country in a bid to derail DP Ruto's 2022 presidential ambition.
