Former President Daniel Arap Moi is a peaceful man because his son Jonathan Moi died after giving his life to Christ, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi revealed during his final sendoff.
The Senator, who also doubles up as KANU party leader, said that Mzee Moi's greatest desire was to see his family embrace salvation.
He admitted that it has not been easy for the second President of Kenya but God’s will stands.
Senator Moi noted that the death of the elder brother has dealt the entire family a big blow, adding that the void he has left behind cannot be filled by anyone.
“It has been tough for Mzee but his joy is that Jonathan finally gave his life to Christ. That comforts him,” he said
In his message of condolence, Deputy President William Ruto described the death of Jonathan as a shocker.
He noted that Moi was a good man who fought the race with determination and goodness.
He also lauded him for being a family man who gave his children all the best before he went to be with the Lord.
“Jonathan Toroitich Moi was an adorable, generous, caring, compassionate husband and father. He knitted strong bonds with neighbors and community members, whom he mingled, interacted with freely and easily,” he said.
