Wilberforce Musyoka has mastered the art of fusing culture, religion, and other social issues to create a masterpiece.
As a result, Musyoka is one of the celebrated vernacular singers from the Kamba region.
Wilberforce Musyoka’s forte is a gospel music. Nevertheless, he has also released several love-inspired songs.
A native of Mtito Andei in Makueni County, Musyoka attended Ivingoni Secondary School. He later joined Mombasa Aviation Training Institute where he studied Diploma in Mass Communication and Journalism.
In 2014, Musyoka formalized his union with Lillian Mwongeli at a colorful wedding held at Pan African Christian University. The couple has a daughter named Pendo.
Just after school, he struggled to find a stable job and also battled with sickness.
He secured a temporary position at a church as a gatekeeper.
After his contract expired, he began babysitting twins.
With time, Musyoka went back to the church and assumed the role of a cleaner.
Even then, he kept his dream of being a musician alive. Musyoka believed that God gives a provision for every talent/calling.
Lucky for him, a friend by name Reuben offered to teach him some basics on graphic design. However, Reuben closed shop just as Musyoka had familiarized himself with graphics. Reuben asked Musyoka to find people who could take over the office and everything in it.
In the process, Musyoka earned Sh10,000. He immediately sent the money to a music producer identified as Tobias.
Then, Musyoka asked the producer to let him record and committed to paying the rest of the production fees.
He sold all his household belonging to settle the remaining costs.
Another friend by the name Kithome offered to accommodate Musyoka as he tried to make ends meet.
Neteelete Nikwone was the first song recorded by Wilberforce Musyoka.
The song is about his experiences, expectations, and belief in God. Initially, Musyoka did not write down the lyrics to his songs, he went freestyle in the studio and record the song immediately.
Once Musyoka completed the album, he held on to it for close to seven months. He kept on second-guessing himself and comparing his music to other established singers.
Family and friends pushed him to release the album, but he did succumb to the pressure. After thorough soul-searching, Musyoka decided to market his music and took a copy of the record to one of the media stations in Kenya.
Nevertheless, Musyoka admits that giving the album was just a by the way as he had gone to ask for a job at the station.
Once Musyoka’s music began playing on the radio, demand for more grew. Kasanga Studios was among the first to contact Wilberforce Musyoka about his Music. Since then, he has continued to enjoy growth and favor in his music ministry.

He has big-time under his name and he has now bagged the groove's best eastern song of the year where his song "Kiwango kingi", another level contested with other songs among them 'mummy' by Purity Kateiko.
