The ODM allied governor had promised that he is committed to ensuring unfinished projects are completed before he exits office in 2022.

"The banana processing plant will be operational before I leave office in 2022. Kisii County has massive production of bananas,” he said.

According to the county boss,  the multi-million project will start operating in July next year and problems banana farmers are facing will be a thing of the past in the county.

"There will be no exploitation of banana farmers once the factory starts operating," noted Ongwae.

The county received a grant of Sh110 million from the European Union (EU) to set up a banana processing plant early last year. Interested contractors are requested to download the bid documents from Kisii County Government website www.kisii.go.ke/tenders and send fully filly documents not later than January 21, 2019, at 10:00 am East African Time.

This will mean critics who have been accusing the governor of failing to finish stalled projects in the county will not have any option apart from supporting the governor throughout his tenure.
