For the three nights at Gigiri police station, the second term governor was not accorded any VIP treatment and shared cell with other detainees.

He slept on the floor with no mattress, ate what the rest of the remandees ate and took a shower at the cells’ bathrooms.

On Sunday, the governor took three slices of bread and tea for breakfast before being served with cabbage, beans and rice at launch.

Used to nice meals such as chicken stew or even chapati, the county boss is also said to have enjoyed Ugali and cabbage when he was arrested on Friday.

But in the last two nights, he has been taking Sukuma Wiki and Ugali for his supper with cabbage being frequent meal at launch hour.

And on Monday night, the governor will have another tough experience at Industrial Area prison after his lawyers lost bid to continue having him at Gigiri police station.

He took plea on Monday morning where he denied murder charges pressed against him by prosecutors probing the death of Sharon Otieno, his murdered girlfriend.

Only his wife Hellen Obado, children and legal team led by Cliff Ombeta were allowed to have access to him. However, officers in the police station had strictly rejected any good from outside.

He will be appearing again on Tuesday afternoon at Gigiri police station where his bail application will be heard.
