Just a day to his burial at Nyabururu Parish, his colleague, Joseph Nyaanga now says the young Father tried to run around his Kembong church on to meet bullet in last steps to make his way to safety.

"The attackers were just shooting indiscriminately and Father was whisking those present to a safe place behind the church.

"In the process, he escaped several bullets only one to hit him as he made final steps to the safe place. Those who witnessed say that he might be alive had he just rushed to the safe hide behind church," he narrated.

Thousands of Catholic church followers will be expected to parade at Nyabururu Parish with several guests expected from Mamfe Diocese in Cameroon where he served as Mill Hill priest.

Bishop Joseph Mairura, who ordained him in 2017, is expected to lead the mass that would see several churches across Nyamira and Kisii Counties participate.

Local leaders led by Governors John Nyagarama (Nyamira) and James Ongwae (Kisii), are also expected to grace the final send-off ceremony.

"He just loved serving people as he accomplished it even at the tender age. So sad that we didn't manage to have him for a little more years," lamented Dennis Onyiego, his childhood friend.
