Veteran Politician and former Subukia lawmaker Koigi wa Wamwere says Deputy President William Ruto has only himself to blame on the political situation in the country.
The power game in the ruling Jubilee has been changing as leaders within the party come out with claims that Ruto and his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta are having a bad blood.
On Tuesday Uhuru picked Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi as his 'cabinet prefect' to oversee the implementation of the party's development projects.
Analysts said this is a move to tame the DP who has been moving around the country launching projects.
According to Koigi, this is just a tip of the iceberg, and Ruto should expect more as was warned by Jubilee Party ex-Vice Chair David Murathe.
"Murathe told him that they would ensure he never ascends to the presidency but he failed to realize that the words were coming from a source close to Uhuru. This is Murathe working," Koigi said.
Before downing his tools in mid January, Murathe, a former Gatanga parliamentarian, vowed to ensure that Ruto never becomes President.
He vowed to among others, challenge his eligibility in court, break the Jubilee Party or lead a mass walkout from the party, all to weaken the DP.
According to Koigi, Murathe is now operating from behind the scenes.
