Deputy President William Ruto now says that there is no bad blood between himself and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
In an interview with NTV from his Karen home in Nairobi on Sunday evening, Ruto expressed his willingness to collaborate with the National Super Alliance (NASA) leader on issues of national concern.
He added that he has no problem with Odinga's current unity deal with President Uhuru Kenyatta following their March 9 truce, noting that he has always been ready to work with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party boss.
"I am ready and has always been ready to work with him. If Uhuru Kenyatta with whom they were competing in the last elections has embraced him then why not me?" he wondered.
This, however, follows a recent battle of words between the two leaders' quarters, after Raila fired shots at Ruto, accusing him of raising political temperatures in the nation by embarking on premature campaigns.
This resulted to retaliation from Ruto's side, with his allies accusing Raila of misusing his political romance with Uhuru by assuming a supervisory role.
Ruto also expressed his readiness to work with all the remaining leaders, including the opposition brigade which led the way in condemning the government before the Raila-Uhuru reconciliation.
"I am ready to work with any leader as we move forward as a nation," he added.
