Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale disclosed that KANU rewarded ODM leader Raila Odinga's loyalty with Kisumu Molasses plant.
In his official Twitter handle, Khalwale argued that Raila adhered to a political agreement they had made with KANU party when Daniel Arap Moi was the president of Kenya.
Khalwale further noted that KANU reciprocated to Raila's allegiance and faithfulness by giving him a multi-million molasses plant.
Further, Dr Khalwale claimed that the former premier had, in the recent past, sold the plant for Sh7 billion.
"@RailaOdinga acquired Kisumu Molases for cooperating with KANU. He has now sold it for Sh7 billion!" read part of the post.
Khalwale opined that, since the former Prime Minister had billions of shillings courtesy of selling the plant, he (Raila) should clear the debt owed to Mumias Sugar Company for alleged supply of molasses.
"Shouldn't he pay Sh300 million allegedly owed to Mumias SC for supply of molases? What'd the late Dr Robert Ouko have said?" wondered Khalwale.
Kisumu molasses plant has been a subject of discussion in political circles after the process of it's acquisition. Mr Odinga has often denied the allegations.
