Following the latest attack by Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and regular police on Dekaharja ward in Fafi sub-county, Garissa leaders have come out to condemn the incident.
Led by Garissa Women Representative Anab Subow Gure, the leaders have sharply faulted the attacks meted on innocent locals calling for speedy investigations into the matter.
Issuing a statement on her official Facebook page, Women Rep Subow revealed that she would never watch as her people are attacked by the same people who are supposed to protect them from enemies.
"I take this opportunity to condemn the recent attack meted against the Kenya Defence Forces in Galmagala by the Alshabaab. I wish a speedy recovery to those men and women in uniform who were injured in that attack.I also condemn the incident which followed in which the Kenya Defence Forces harassed innocent people from Dekaharja ward in Fafi sub-county and left several others with severe injuries while others were taken in detention," reads the social media statement in part
The vocal legislator further called on the locals to work and avail intelligence information to security agencies to avert more attacks in the future.
"I urge the community to work hand in hand with all the security personnel in our region, give any reliable information to counterattack the terrorists and exercise the ‘Nyumba Kumi’ initiative," she added.
