Suna West is one of the constituencies in Migori County, an (Orange Democratic Movement) ODM stronghold.

He was elected as an independent candidate, and won the election after garnering 19,341, against ODM’s Joseph Ndiege who managed 18,316 votes.

But what many do not know is that Mr. Masara went through ups and downs before becoming an MP.

He went to Migori primary school and Migori Boys High school, before taking a Diploma in Business Management at the Kenya Institute of Management between 1997 and 1998.

He then worked as a sales manager for more than three years at the Reproscan Company Limited.

Mr Masara then joined politics where he served as a councilor in the former Municipal Council of Migori between 2002 and 2013.

After the 2013 contest, he was given a nod to serve as the Manager for the Migori Senate office, a position he held until the 2017 elections when he was elected MP.

The Member of Parliament is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Public administration and leadership at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).

He is a member of the Public Accounts Committee and the Committee on Administration and National Security at the National Assembly.
