Back in Migori, campaigns for the senatorial by-election set for October 8 are at fever pitch.

Amid all these, Federal Party of Kenya (FPK) Migori Senatorial candidate Eddy Oketch is set to lose big from Obado's detention.

Before his arrest over two weeks ago, the county boss had offered to support the FPK candidate.

Obado was elected on an ODM ticket last year, but declined to support the Orange party’s candidate Dr Ochilo Ayacko after he was handed a direct ticket.

He threw his weight behind Oketch with reports indicating that he had vowed to do anything within his power, to ensure Ayacko loses his bid to replace the late Ben Oluoch Okello.

Despite his current woes, Obado remains a very popular political figure in Migori, and his presence in the county during the on-going senatorial campaigns would have been a major boost to Mr Oketch.

With Obado out of the picture as at now, Ayacko may just stroll to victory in the upcoming by-election at the expense of Mr Oketch.
