Deputy President William Ruto has landed in Kisumu ahead of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s arrival in the county.
The Deputy President was received by opposition leader Raila Odinga at the Kisumu International Airport Thursday morning.

The President is expected to land in Kisumu to begin his 2-day tour of the Luo Nyanza region, this being his first time in the area since March 9.
Odinga has since assumed the role of major host of the President who will among others, officially launch the Universal Healthcare Coverage (UHC) at the Mamboleo Showground.
President Kenyatta will also preside over the groundbreaking of the Ahero interchange in Nyando constituency, before commissioning the Kisumu–Kakamega Road.
He is as well scheduled to officially open the Ken Obura School before attending the UHC luncheon at the Nyanza Gold Club.
Odinga who doubles up as the region’s political kingpin has since urged residents to come out in large numbers to give the president a befitting welcoming.
