Silverstone Air has launched daily flights to Eldoret.
The airline will start operating the flights from Nairobi to Eldoret beginning Friday, May 31, 2019.
According to Silverstone Air Sales and Marketing Manager Patrick Oketch, the move will help meet the increasing demand for air travel in the region.
"The new service to Eldoret will expand our extensive coverage throughout the country and provide convenient service for passengers travelling to visit friends and family, business or even tourism," said Oketch.
Oketch made the remarks after the airline made its first flight from Nairobi to Eldoret town on Friday.
"The flight from Eldoret to Nairobi and back will cost Sh10,000 on a Dash 8-300 aircraft that carries 50 passengers," he added.
Silverstone Air Managing Director Capt Mohamed Somow said the airline is looking forward to partner with the Uasin Gishu County government in the travel business to continue expanding into other regions across the country and beyond.
"We continue our development based on our experience. Eldoret is like our second home and this new route reflected that. We want also to participate in the economic development of the county of Uasin Gishu," he said.
He noted that the flights will be leaving Wilson airport at 7.15am and will arrive in Eldoret town at 8.00am.
