ODM leader Raila Odinga has once again laid bare the basis of his union with President Uhuru Kenyatta, saying that it has nothing to do with allocating anyone seats.
Speaking on Saturday at his Opoda farm in Bondo, Siaya county, the former Prime Minister added that he is not using his truce with the President to lobby for personal gains, but is after the well being of Kenya.
He said that their unity is solely based on uniting the country and laying a foundation for development and growth.
The ODM leader said never at any point have they discussed issues to do with their communities, but Kenya as a whole.
"[Uhuru and I] don't talk about Luos and Kikuyus, we speak about all Kenyans. We want everyone to have an equal chance," he was quoted by the Nation.
Raila spoke when he hosted a delegation of over 150 politicians from Nakuru county, under the leadership of former Molo lawmaker Njenga Mungai.
He said that the same is the case with the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) founded between them after their truce, and which seeks to solve the nation's recurrent political issues.
"The only Kenya we have agreed on is a united and stable Kenya. We signed the Building Bridges Initiative to unite Kenyans," insisted the African Union Infrastructure envoy.
The truce has repeatedly been poked holes into by forces allied to Deputy President William Ruto who have termed it a plot to break the ruling Jubilee Party.
