Speaking on Citizen Television Tuesday evening, the Ford Kenya party leader said that plans to realise the same are on course, with some of the needed facilities already in existence.

He noted that he has already prepared his campaign plan, adding that he has also identified his campaign headquarters and already has a team preparing to handle the exercise.

"I am going for the presidency in 2022. I already have a plan, an office that will act as my headquarters and a group of people who are ready to spearhead and be part of my campaigns," he said.

When asked whether he could reconsider his move to join Deputy President William Ruto's side, Wetangula laughed off the idea, maintaining that he is expecting other hopefuls to join him and not vice versa.

This comes only days after he reconciled with his longtime political rival and Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, in the presence of his Sports counterpart Rashid Echesa.

He, however, noted that the same is in line with his unification agenda, noting that he will need as many leaders as possible on his side to emerge the victor.

"I shook hands with Eugene because there is the need for unity between us as leaders. I already have my bid and should not be expected to endorse separate ones," he said.

The leader is, however, yet to announce the party with which he will contest in the much-anticipated race.
