Boda boda operators in Mombasa may have a bad Christmas after they received unexpected ban.
Speaking in Mombasa, Coast Regional Police Commander Noah Mwivanda banned boda boda operations in sections of Mombasa city. The ban is expected to be effected until the festivities are over.
According to Mwivanda, criminals carry out their operations using the boda bodas. He stated that the ban starts at 8pm until dawn.
“We are not going to allow boda boda operations in Mombasa past 8pm until the festive season is over,” Mwivanda said as reported by Baraka FM.
Parts that will be affected by the ban include sections of Central Business District (CBD), Kisauni and Likoni. Operators will be forced to abide by the ban or relocate to areas not affected by the ban.
