Bishop Wanjiru has since exuded confidence that she will be picked as Sonko’s deputy.

The Jesus Is Alive Ministries Bishop said that they have come from far with governor Sonko and that they share the same development agenda.

“It is good news for me, my supporters and Nairobians and I look forward to being picked as the deputy governor,” she told journalists at her Jesus Is Alive Ministries church on Wednesday.

Wanjiru said that her dreams to transform Nairobi have never changed.

The former Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) MP asked her supporters to pray for her.

Bishop Wanjiru lost bid to contest for the Nairobi governor seat after losing to Sonko in Jubilee party nominations.

A section of Jubilee politicians had rooted for Wanjiru as Sonko’s deputy but the flamboyant governor picked Polycarp Igathe who later resigned.

On Wednesday, Sonko shortlisted Wanjiru, gender activist Agnes Kagure, lawyers Karen Nyamu and Jane Weru for the deputy governor post.
