The commander in chief of the armed forces was received by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

Uhuru later revealed that they agreed to renew their commitment to the full implementation of the Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia Transport Corridor (LAPSSET) projects.

He said that the projects are key as far as the development of the two nations is concerned.

The duo promised to deepen their ties to transform the two countries.

“We also renewed our commitment to the implementation of the Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia Transport Corridor projects as enablers of the transformation of our countries.

"LAPSSET has great promise of transforming our countries and improving the living conditions of our people,” he said through his official Twitter handle.

The President also urged private investors from Ethiopia to support his government in the transformation process. He noted that the country needs investors from different parts of the world to achieve its agenda.

“I welcomed the Ethiopian private sector to partner with us in the implementation of #Big4Agenda projects in food security, affordable housing, manufacturing and affordable healthcare | @PMEthiopia,” he said in another tweet.

The tour came hours after Uhuru reorganized Cabinet. The head of State, who is serving his second and final term in office, has vowed to implement the Big Four Agenda.

He has warned corrupt Cabinet Secretaries against derailing his agenda as he seeks to leave behind a legacy before his retirement.
